Karen came to HHR for physical therapy 5 days after her right knee total joint replacement. She had significant swelling and pain limiting her mobility. She struggled with stairs, driving, and standing for long periods. Karen quickly gained her flexion or bend back in her knee, but struggled with getting it straight. Our therapists worked with Karen to improve her range of motion, gait, balance, swelling, and pain. Karen is now able to go up and down stairs without a handrail, drive, travel, perform all her daily tasks, and no longer needs a cane or walker. Her knee is stronger and she is more confident in her steps! 👏
